PLOT SYNOPSIS
In their secret stronghold amidst the Colombian jungle, a group of ruthless terrorists calling itself Colmillo Atómico (the Atomic Fang), bows to bring their own brand of holy terror to the United States, by starting a bombing campaign in the most beautiful cities of the Union. Targeting Miami as their first mark, Colmillo Atómico planners pick “sleeper agent” Rahmid Chiaas for the job. Chiaas is activated through a former Cuban Intelligence operative named Mirta, who warns him that a shipment of “smart missiles” —and possibly a “dirty bomb”— are being sent his way. The bomb and the missiles will be supplied by Russian Mafia weapons dealer Yuri Pavenko. In Washignton D.C., Arnold Feldman, the director of a vast national security agency called the Organized Crime Force (OCF) brings one of his best agents into play by pulling him out of his overseas station, and flying him over to Miami. Special Agent Jack Bull of the OCF is a young and fearless undercover operative who, in the recent past, has locked horns with the dangerous mobster. However, Director Feldman is very much aware that the sunny beaches of South Florida are not a familiar hunting ground for his wonder-boy from the Moscow Division, thus he decides to ask for the cooperation of perhaps the most secret of the shadow networks in the entire national defense program; the one to which all other security services turn to when a “black bag” operation gets derailed: The Quadrille. Big Jack arrives in Miami and picks up Yuri’s trail almost immediately. Tailing Pavenko day and night, the OCF agent is able to collect all the evidence needed to connect the Russian mobster to a very shady character named Rudy Cuevas, and the gang of ruthless terrorists involved in the bombing campaign. Meanwhile, at The Quadrille’s headquarters in Miami, Col. Marlon Berkowitz receives an unexpected call from Director Feldman, asking for help; and that’s how the series takes off. Berkowitz, who’s also known as The Colonel, sends beautiful agent Phi to interrupt Pat’s leave and snap his top eliminator right back into action. Seeing his hard-earned leave being cut short by his gorgeous female partner, a frustrated Pat realizes they’re going to have their hands full this time, once he learns who they’re being sent to stop —and who they’re going to team up with, for that matter— because one thing he knows for certain is how different the two security agencies operate. The Organized Crime Force arrests… The Quadrille doesn't. Nonetheless, his gloomy reflections about the near future do not stop agent Delta from spending the last few hours of his shattered solace enjoying the crystal-clear beaches of Sunny Isles in the company of the woman he dearly loves. Oh, yes, Jessica Fitts, by far the best female agent in the team —and his boss’s secret daughter!
THE ARCH OF THE STORY
Once it’s clear to the director of The Quadrille who their target is, The Colonel briefs his most trusted operatives on the operation, and emphasizes how important it is for the future of the unit that Delta and Phi get along with their OCF counterparts in the course of this mission; however, he quietly adds, this doesn’t mean they’ll remain as passive observers while the OCF takes all the glory by capturing the offenders... What follows is a series of violent encounters and dangerous situations between the good guys and the terrorists, but the story is not precisely told in “black and white”. Delta and Phi realize from the very beginning they are bound for a head-on collision with the agents of the OCF, although —at least, in theory— they’re all fighting on the same side. And we begin to see the results of this ill-fated “interagency cooperation” as Jessica clashes with OCF agent Johnny Tadeo during an attempt to take out Yuri Pavenko and his hired go-between Rudy Cuevas at the Club Terraza, one of the spots where the Russian mobster and his local middleman meet. Thus begin Arnold Feldman’s little private war with Col. Berkowitz’s undercover unit, which now falls under Washington’s loop because “someone” in the higher echelons of Capitol Hill is spreading rumors that The Colonel is getting sloppy and unable to control his “band of wild killers”. Of course, there’s no need to tell who this “someone” is…Going forward, Johnny Tadeo’s death complicates matters for Pat and Jessica. After eliminating Rahmid Chiaas, Delta pushes to finish off the mission by taking out Cuevas and Yuri as well, before they vanish with Big Jack as a hostage, but he is ambushed —and nearly killed, for that matter— by Nina the Shooter, Pavenko’s stunning female bodyguard, and younger lover. Failure to eliminate the Russian mobster, who, by the way, pumps Big Jack for information and knifes him down before escaping, puts more pressure on Delta and his partner to prove, in Washington’s eye, that Col. Berkowitz and his Quadrille are still on top of the ball, and that Atomic Fang will get permanently crushed before their threats come through. Around the seventh episode in the series, The Colonel starts suspecting that, going against company norms, his two best operatives have become so emotionally involved with each other that they're not focusing on the mission the way they should, and he’s about to step in and separate them when his Chief of Staff, Margot Aledo —Berkowitz’s right hand and long-time secret lover— warns him not to do it. Even as much as she despises Pat, Ms. Aledo is fully aware that Jessica is better protected if she hangs around with The Colonel’s “dumb-blond gorilla” than operating on her own. The worried father in him, forces Berkowitz to hold back his anger and continue pushing them to complete the mission, after all, Ms. Aledo is right, isn't she?. Well, she should be —being Jessica’s mother… Another situation that develops within The Quadrille is the looming threat of a turncoat. His name is Alfred Tilson, and he’s The Colonel’s Operations Control Officer. Tilson has been placed in charge of shattering what is known as La Sombrilla del Caribe (The Caribbean Umbrella), a money-laundering operation formed by some Miami bank executives and other shady financial institutions through which Yuri Pavenko and the terrorists launder all their money. The operation is lead by a man named Brian Tabyz from his luxury yacht and high-rise condo in a rich man’s paradise. But lack of results on Tilson’s part, and his annoying insistence that The Quadrille should refrain from physically removing Tabyz and his bankers in favor of allowing the OCF to bring them under arrest, makes The Colonel suspect that somehow Arnold Feldman has managed to penetrate his unit and is working on turning his most trusted subordinates against the boss… Well, The Colonel is right. And he is proven so when giving Delta and Phi orders to assault Tabyz’s luxury condo in exotic Fisher Island. Tilson interferes and makes Pat an offer Delta can't refuse: a “bright future” working for the OCF, or a painful death if Pat doesn't accept the deal. But agent Phi shows up on time and eliminates the traitor with a shot in the back. Then together they wrap up the mission by eliminating the crooked bankers and some of their bodyguards in a dashing effort to escape a fearsome couple of killer watchdogs and their handlers. With Tilson out of the way and their mission accomplished, Pat returns to Headquarters to fill The Colonel on the outcome of the operation, while Jessica makes a quick stop at her apartment to wash up and get a bit of rest. Little does she know that Cuevas, Nina and Yuri are waiting in the shadows for an opportunity to abduct her and reel Delta in for the kill… Meanwhile, at the base, Pat eavesdrops on a private conversation between Ms. Aledo and The Colonel. Margot is really concerned about her daughter’s fate, and thus Delta finds out that the woman he’s fallen in love with is his superior’s daughter! When Pat breaks into his boss’s office to report that the mission has been closed, The Colonel receives an anonymous telephone call through which they all find out that agent Phi has been abducted. From then on is a race against time to save Jessica and finish off the bad guys. And just when it begins to seem an impossible mission —even for seasoned agent Delta—, Jack Bull pops out of nowhere, and becomes an ally! Between the both of them, Pat and Jack manage to locate Yuri, assault the Russian mobster's island mansion in North Bay Village and rescue Jessica. In exchange for his help, Pat allows Jack to get away with arresting Yuri, Nina and Cuevas instead of taking them out, and earns a harsh reprimand from The Colonel… Under a fierce interrogation by Big Jack and some other agents of the OCF —but most of all to save his beautiful Nina from spending her best years in a CIA prison— Yuri spills his guts about the entire Colmillo Atómico operation, and reveals the location of the terrorists’ stronghold in the Colombian jungle.
THE ENDING
The series climaxes in an all-out commando assault to the terrorist camp by a very lethal unit of Quadrille assassins lead by Pat and The Colonel himself. When it’s done, there’s no one standing on the enemy’s stronghold. Commander Ahmed and Ali Quevach will never make any more threats to the national security of the United States… No one messes with America, and gets away with it!
